Professor Dr Syed Mohammad Shamsuzzoha of Rajshahi University was shot and killed by the Pakistani military. Despite extensive discourse on the liberation war and Bangladesh’s post-independence political landscape, the 1969 mass uprising remains relatively underexplored. Professor Zoha was the first martyr of that movement, his sacrifice marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s march towards independence.
