Mohammad Fakhrul Islam is now pursuing PhD in the School of Economic & Regional Sciences at the Hungarian University of Agriculture & Life Sciences (MATE), Hungary, with a fully funded Hungarian government scholarship (Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship). Along with that, he is an Assistant Professor (currently on study leave) of the Business Administration department (Management and Human Resource Management) at Stamford University Bangladesh.
Before that, he served as a lecturer in the management department at the Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT). He has more than fourteen years of active teaching experience. Mr. Islam did his MBA and BBA in the Department of Management at the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Rajshahi. He also received PGDHRM from the Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM ) and ABIA from the Bangladesh Insurance Academy (BIA).
He is currently pursuing a PhD in the School of Economic and Regional Sciences at Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) under a fully funded Hungarian government scholarship. Alongside his doctoral studies, He serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Department of Agricultural Management and Leadership Sciences at MATE and as a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Economics of Széchenyi István University. He is also affiliated as a visiting research fellow/faculty with universities across Bangladesh, India, and Vietnam, while serving as an Assistant Professor (currently on study leave) at Stamford University Bangladesh. With more than fourteen years of experience in higher education, He has contributed to six universities in diverse academic and research capacities. His research focuses on sustainability, management, HRM, organizational behavior, technology, and sustainable & development studies. He has published extensively in internationally reputed journals from every publisher, including Sage, Wiley, Springer, Emerald, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and Inderscience, indexed in ABDC, ABS, Scopus, and Web of Science. He also actively serve as a reviewer for leading international journals.
Beyond academia, He is very passionate about serving the research community. He is the founder of Bangladesh Academy for Research and Development, ResearchCraft Training and Development, and Bangladesh Research Watch (BRW), the country’s first research monitoring watchdog. Alongside his academic career, he remains deeply engaged in leadership, research development, community service, and student career advancement initiatives.
He has proven consulting & advisory skills in HR, research, and publications. He has conducted seminars, and workshops at different universities and institutions. Mr. Islam has also participated in & presented his contemporary HR & related research papers at different international conferences at home and abroad. He writes columns regularly on contemporary issues in the national dailies and reputed online portals. Mr. Islam is a popular public & professional speaker and has attended many invited speeches at home and abroad.
Apart from the academic segment, Mr. Islam has demonstrated leadership skills and abilities in educational, social, community, and professional bodies. He worked for the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Rotaract Club, Badhon (Voluntary blood donating organization), Shawjon Badhon (Voluntary blood donating organization) and other national & regional organizations with leading positions. Mr. Islam has Founded ‘Rokter Badhone Stamford (Voluntary blood donating unity)’ to help all the stakeholders at Stamford University Bangladesh.
He has a proven track record of engaging and managing different professional bodies. Mr. Islam was elected as an Executive Council (EC) member for the year 2019-20 at the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM), Bangladesh. He is also actively engaged with leading HR professional bodies in Bangladesh, like- Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) Bangladesh, Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM), Bangladesh Society for Training & Development (BSTD), Bangladesh Organization for Learning & Development (BOLD), Alliance of Green HR Professionals Bangladesh, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) etc.
